Have you ever been in an earthquake?

By @Jenny1234
Yes, in Cleveland in 1986. Was only a 2-3 on the Richter scale
Yes…some mild others we still talk about
ImRileyTheDog · 22-25, F
No, I don’t live in an area that experiences them
Ambroseguy80 · 51-55, M
Yes, and didn’t even know it.
Yes, Loma Prieta, 1989. Measured at 7.5 per conservation.ca.gov.

@bijouxbroussard That must of been scary.
@Iwillwait Yes. It seemed to go on for a long time, but we were told it was only seconds.
Yes, while at a hotel in Asia. The bed began moving up and down...I swear it felt like there was someone beneath it, scared the heck out of me.

I think so. We must have tremors or small earthquakes here.
Either that, or I have very large, noisy ghosts in my house.
Yes only mild thankfully but seeing picture frames on the wall rattling was scary enough

I don't want to say in one.

But I've experienced one once... I was up at like 2-3 am and lived next to a highway...

I heard what I thought was a truck with it's Jake break on... but it lasted forever! Like twice as long as the road... I got up to look out a window and as soon as I got on my feet the house started to shake...

It wasn't too bad... but totally caught me off guard.
natureboy3 · 18-21, M
Nope, very rare any sort of earthquake happens in England
CrustyDDingus · 36-40, M
Yeah, hardly noticed really because I'm a good- I'm good at what I do 🔪💀
Several ... once a 5.8 tossed me up into a tree
Synyster · 51-55, M
Yes, a few times when I lived in LA County.
MasterDvdC · 61-69, M
Technically once when we were kids. We lived near Peoria, Ill. My parents were in a restaurant at the top of our tallest building (20 stories) and the building swayed. But we kids didn't notice anything. We lived near a major highway and probably just figured that it was just a large truck passing.
Not in but near...Rh scale 7.4

Yes.

I was at work and the floor swayed.

When I go home later that day I swear there were a few plaster cracks I'd never noticed before. Also, a box of macaroni had tipped over in the pantry.
sarabee1995 · 26-30, F
Yeah, but not really. It was like a two or three or whatever on the scale. I'm not even sure I felt it.
Yes. In my hometown in Oklahoma of all places. Not really known for earthquakes
TexChik · F
Supposedly , slept through it
nacnud · 31-35, M
Yes but in the UK it was very small.

LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
Only one that I was aware of. The Spring Break Quake of 1993. At its epicenter, it measured 5.6. We were 35 miles away, and it woke me up.
empanadas · 31-35, M
