I鈥檝e driven on ice but not in severe storms except one time when a tropical storm came from the Gulf of Mexico and centered over Oklahoma...we got 8+ inches that night. I got off of work at 12:30 a.m. and didn鈥檛 make it home. There was so much water in the bar ditches they looked like creeks...got to one bridge that was covered with water and had to turn around and go stay the night with my aunt & uncle.

I drove in rain that fell and seemed to be 2 feet deep suddenly, it was so scary.. I had to pull in for a moment, gather my bearings, the rain was coming so fast wipers were like nothing....It took me 2 hours to get home a 10 minute drive and I had no phone with me and my husband was at home with the babies and I was pregnant too.. OMG, when I think about it now, it was crazy.
@tiggerandariel13 Probably the blizzards of 2011 and 2015.

If you think driving is fun in severe weather... try flying in severe weather... that will pucker your sphincter muscle right up!!

And I mean flying the airplane yourself
@Spokeskitties75 In one of those little propeller airplanes that would be scary as hell.
Spokeskitties7546-50, M
@latinbutterfly I鈥檝e done it in single engine... multi engine... and jets, but no plane is big enough or fast enough for thunderstorms
@Spokeskitties75 I remember the news story when I was 7, about the Delta jumbo jet that was pretty much slammed to the ground by a microburst near Dallas, Texas. Second major aviation disaster that year (1985).

I try not to but yeah.

I have. Through hurricane, floods, snow storms... It is fun.

However I鈥檝e been in California for the last 8 years and find it hilarious that when it drizzles the locals lose their minds.

Living in New England...I've driven through EVERYTHING
english56-60, M
like you say its a challenge ,but as long as you have snow tires or chains, the worst was driving up to whistler mountain, minus 25, snow just dropping like blizzard. 馃檪
JeanAnnaF
Yes, I've driven through ice storms, snow storms (times when I couldn't even see the road) and heavy rain. Very scary.
xixgunM
Snowstorms, monsoons, hurricanes, hail storms, and watched a tornado form off to our left
bookerdanaM
Many times;once there was an ice storm and work wouldn't let me go.
Luckily when I left the roads were empty but for 20 miles I prayed I wouldn't go into a pole as my car was all over t馃槰he road
@bookerdana My first car had bad tires the first winter I had it, and unfortunately I didn't find out until our first snowstorm that winter.
