A steam boiler exploded in the building I was working in. I coordinated the emergency response (both on site and off site). I was credited with saving the life of a contractor who had been working on the boiler when it exploded. It was a job I was working for extra income, at the time (not my day job). But I think this counts as the craziest thing that happened at work in my life.
