What is the worst disaster you have personally experienced?

Loss of a child

Saw a guy die when he dumped his motorcycle at high-speed and slid under a parked car, me and about 20 other guys picked up the car and moved it aside because we didn't dare try to drag him out from underneath..

Saw a small pickup truck rear end a tractor trailer doing about seventy miles an hour, the steel bumper of the trailer was in the windshield, he died on impact..

Saw a teenager moments after he got hit by a train trying to beat it across the tracks .
His entrails were hanging out of his mouth, his chest was crushed..

I broke a finger nail out at a pub and ran out of cigarettes all in the one evening
It was very traumatic

Car accident. Spent almost 3 months in the hospital

Wildfires here in Napa Valley. Smoke so bad going outside could be dangerous. Had to evacuate my home more than once (thankfully it's still standing, but I have friends who've lost their homes).

hurricane katrina and a few car accidents.

Massive bushfire in 2001 3 months after joining the NSW RFS as a volunteer firefighter. So massive it nearly burnt my house and the houses around it and only saving grace is my partner at the time and my then two young kids (which are now 23 and 21) were not at home.
