Fascists appropriated the [b]swastika[/b], if you can imagine that, and made it infamous forever as a symbol of hatred and genocide.
It was originally a positive symbol in many ancient cultures.

@bijouxbroussard New Mexico State University adopted a version of the swastika as a symbol, to honor the Navajo of the region, who used the symbol themselves, long before the Nazis came along. More recently, NMSU decided to drop it.

Ironic that so many non-white peoples had this symbol, and that Hitler tried to make it a symbol of Arianism.
