So...the "it's cold where I am" defense, huh? Out of curiosity. Do you TRULY believe that climate scientists around the world, with data and highly sensitive instruments, are LYING that this is the hottest it's been on record? If so...why? What's in for a scientist who has one job and that's to determine and disseminate factual information? They'd be doing the same thing irrespective of the weather.
Maybe it's the global part that's tripping you up. I don't know. But I do I know I'll never, ever, ever understand why people choose their feeeeeelings and beliefs over the facts. It's just so nonsensical to me.

@Ynotisay The press though are not scientists, and interpret the evidence to serve their political masters or sell newspapers.

@SW-User Ooops. I happen to know a little bit about the "press." A professional perspective. The legitimate press reports. If a reporter gets it wrong? It's a serious problem for them. If they lie? They're done. Similar to a scientist. It's not about the end product. It's about the process. Stories that go out via the legitimate press is vetted. By numerous people and fact checkers. They work their asses off to get it right. That's their job. So I'm not sure you have a real handle on it. I think you might just liking having an enemy to fight against or blame.
There is no political master with legitimate news outlets sir. That's not how it works. Now I could be wrong but I have a feeling you get your 'news' from extremist sites that DO lie and DO manipulate. That's the difference between reporting and opinion. And a lot of people don't recognize that difference. And it sucks.
Do you wanna' the biggest tool in their tool box? It revolves around them saying, "The media is lying to you." That's it. It's blatantly obvious but people still lap it up.
Come on man. Have a little self-respect, huh? I don't what guys like you are you fighting against. But it sure as hell isn't in your own best interest. I'll never understand it.

@Ynotisay Not quite sure where you come from, but certainly not England. The Tory press is notoriously biased, and their editors have no scientific background.

@SW-User GLOBAL climate change. Global.
The ten hottest years recorded in the UK since 1884 have taken place over the last 20 years. That's climate. If it's cool where you are today, that's weather. Different things.
Side note. Last year was the UK's hottest on record.
What are you fighting against? Seriously. And more importantly...why?

@Ynotisay Firstly, sunspot activity governs our weather, and though there are patterns, their cycles are unpredictable.
Secondly, the sun is not a uniform star.
Thirdly in the seventies it was thought we were moving to the next ice age.
But my initial statement was its wet and cold in England this summer. It was not a statement on the effects of global warming by reflection of water vapour in the atmosphere, methane or carbon dioxide.
