So sick of useful idiots who are against climate change, but whenever there's an actual demonstration against them they join in the reactionaries in

zeroing in on the comparatively miniscule harm it'll cause and condemning it.

Like yeah, it's not that hard to imagine a scenario where a street being blocked or some shit seriously hurts someone, but do you know what else will seriously hurt people? Societal collapse from famine. Do y'all have any idea how bad things are gonna get if we don't straighten up our act? We're literally talking about billions of people being displaced -- possibly dying -- in the developing world, and the worst refugee crisis in world history as a result of that. But oh, god forbid some wealthy tourists won't get to see the painting they flew in for, bless their little hearts. 💗

We've tried petitions and passionate speeches and lobbying the government. We've tried waiving climate reports in people's faces till our arms got tired, and marching on Washington loudly and peacefully. We've tried blowing up pipelines and blocking the entrance to power plants. We've tried sending death threats to fossil fuel executives and deflating SUV tires. While progress has been made, it hasn't been made fast enough to prevent mass-scale death and suffering and that's on us. We can't accept this, not under any circumstances. Wake up and look at the real violence.
we are all, well and truely screwed

@SatyrService It's not over till it's over, comrade. Reaching our climate goals now feels very unlikely, but even if we fail, we can at least slow it down a little more to give people more time. We can reduce the heating just a little and maybe save a few cities in the long-term. Cold comfort I know, but at this point we have to remember that we can always make a difference, even in defeat.
