@MasterLee Thats true, while plastic more melts which is more a product of heat.
Plastic, because it is the one I actually reuse.

Plastic can be burned and turned into useful energy. Paper is made from cutting down massive numbers of trees.
@hippyjoe1955 Reality shown doesn't need evidence. The one objecting to what most call common truth is the one needs to provide references. But if you want to get stuck in the mud of conspiracy

@thewindupbirdchronicles Reality is evidence. If you can't produce the evidence there is no reality. What colour is the sky in your world?
@hippyjoe1955 Dipper in colour, but I'm unable to know until you tell me... goof

The last time someone asked me "paper or plastic," they were asking if I wanted to pay with "cash or credit."

It's most always the lesser of two "evils", when wishing to do the least harm. I choose the reusable bag option, above paper or plastic.

It is primarily raw meat and sometimes unwashed produce, that increases the risk of food born illness when using one's own bags while grocery shopping. That can be easily remedied by using either a few plastic bags as opposed to 15 or 50, or simply washing or otherwise 'sanitizing' whatever kind of reusable bags a person chooses.
