I Experienced An Awkward Moment

They call them pregnant pauses, I was with a guy, a guy I liked, who had taken me to dinner and everything was going swimmingly, and he went to what he considered the next phase of our meeting without really checking with me that it was where we were headed. It killed the moment, and it's awkward intent brought our evening together to an abrupt close.
