Learning is a continuous process of self improvement
In today's age there is undoubtedly a plethora of information and not everything we see in media , not everything we hear from people is a resemblance of what our perception would be had we experienced it first hand.
To be open minded is our ability to distinguish facts from hearsay. It is only an open mind that can truly learn to imbibe.
I have been to a few countries around the world and just because i had a negative experience with some citizens of a country doesn't mean those citizens are representatives of the country as a whole.
It takes a lot of clarity of thought to integrate, disintegrate information and allow our mind to see the story from two sides. I often do that with books and news. If i find a book that talks in favour of a person, i also read a contrasting opinion on the same person.
Someone who thinks they know it all is someone who doesn't know the most important thing that we continue to learn till we die. That knowledge is never enough, there's always more and a curious mind gets an adrenaline rush from seeking it.
Ego is an emotion of a delusional mind. Bigger the ego, smaller the mind. The ego draws it's sustenance from the illusion of triumph of its present possessions.
