Upvaasaa/Fasting
A few days ago, read the etymological meaning of the term 'Upavaasaa' in Sanskrit, Upa is near and vaaasaa is to stay.
Taking it further, it is staying near Our Creator or gaining mental proximity with Our Creator. I reflected and somehow couldn't get convinced.
I was intrigued to know further about what wrong am I doing since years coz once into 12-15 days of food fasting per month, I have come down to NULL fasting now. Speech fasts are all that I indulge in.
Sign of Rebelliousnes? I don't feel so. Somehow, my equation with the Creator has changed over the years. I no more ask. I just remember to silently focus in the nothingness to understand how much more do I need to go on.
Still, to ensure what more is in store, I read further.
Before going forth, I did remembered and smiled at my Angels thanking for my daily edible food and all blessings- seen and unseen.
Okayyy!
Skimmed through...
The bottomline of this brief article is appealing enough stating:
Fasting shouldn't make one weak, irritable or create an urge to indulge later (like a hungry cow in me when I fasted for the first time in my life)
The BEST:
The Bhagavad Geeta states: Eat properly - Yukta-aahaaraa that means neither less nor more
and
to eat pure, simple,(I add, edible) healthy food that is also called SAATVIK (grass) in my terminology even when not fasting.
No more.
Thanks to all who spread smiles. It was long due to thank you all.

The more one indulges one's senses, the more they make demands.
Another takeaway:Fasting shouldn't make one weak, irritable or create an urge to indulge later (like a hungry cow in me when I fasted for the first time in my life)
