It would suit me fine if we beat the fuck out of the little bastards.
SubLuna · 18-21, F
@JonathanC someone needs to beat the shit out of you. I pray you never had children.
JonathanC · 61-69, M
@SubLuna If I do have children, they'll fend for themselves, the little fucks.

Absolutely not. There is way too much potential for abuse and for it to be sexualised and to have those fetishes perpetuated. More to the point the use of physical assault and humiliation is proven to be a disincentive rather than an incentive to behaving better and to learning.

no. violence is not the answer. hitting is illegal between adults, and so it should be between all peoples.

This would be a terrible idea. There are many credible peer reviewed studies that this doesn't work. There are literally none that says it does.
BigBulge · 41-45, M
Absolutely not. Beating a child is the action of someone who is incompetent.
No way. It would be a terrible idea.
Elessar · 26-30, M
What for, the enjoyment of some sadistic mentally-f*cked pedo?
graphite · 61-69, M
No. The days of routine violence against children should be over.

No fuck all the creeps who swatted me I hope they all rot in hell

Do we need to bring back discipline? I think so, but not physical discipline in schools.
GerOttman · 61-69, M
No, doesn't do any good and just teaches that violence is an answer to any problem. spoiler alert, it's not...
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
It’s abuse so no.
no, it was a stupid fucking idea when it DID happen. Think of all the kids that grew up thinking beating on others was fine. No wonder we have so much domestic violence. The strongest most respected teacher, back in the day. generally a man. HIT you to correct you. That the kind of rotten lessons that fuck up society.
For teachers, administrators, principles and the Board Of Ed? Yes! Absolutely.
As a matter of fact, I took a canoeing phyz Ed in college. I could have done that in high school
SubLuna · 18-21, F
Absolutely the fuck not. As for why not, I don't need to explain. It should be super obvious why not to a casual observer at a moment's thought.
DavidT8899 · 22-25, M
I do agree that discipline, consequences and responsibility BADLY need to be returned to the public school system. However, corporal punishment is not the way to do it.
malaki11 · 31-35, M
If teachers cannot beat the students for misbehaving then the teachers have no real authority. Smart parents know this and don't complain in countries where schools are very orderly.
graphite · 61-69, M
@malaki11 If students are getting out of hand physically, cops can be called and the kid expelled. There have been some rules put in place making it hard to take any action against misbehaving students. Teachers have no business touching the students except to protect themselves.
malaki11 · 31-35, M
@graphite Cops aren't needed here for unruly students b/c after you get hit at school, whoever is raising you will be notified and immediately take the teacher's side so you get hit again at home, and then come back to school to apologize in front of the whole class for wasting everyone's collective time. No cops necessary.
