I Hate Conflict

I just got back from a meeting where I spoke up against my boss in front of many people.

I dont like doing that but the things he was saying were not things he had any right to be making solid conclusions on.

I couldn't stand idly by while he tried to make himself look smart by stating opinions as facts. That's one of my biggest pet peeves. I'm ok with people having strong opinions but an opinion is just an opinion until proven true. People who state things as absolute truths with no clear evidence drive me nuts.

Sometimes the right thing is not the comfortable thing. I'm glad you stood up for what you believe is right. That is rare these days when it's in a circumstance that could cost the person.

I hope you find another job soon.
(AS right as what you did was).

A friend's husband spoke out when his boss claimed all of his work as his own, he was thanked at the time for setting the record straight but loss his job 3 months later in a 'restructuring'. He worked for one of the big 5 UK banks.

@GeniUs oh wow. That's a terrible story. But I'm glad he spoke up. Getting fired or let go for speaking your mind is like getting a black eye in grade school for standing up to the playground bully. You wear that mark with pride. It hurts but it speaks volumes about the person that dealt the pain.

I'll gladly take my black eye for speaking up. I'm getting too old for this drama. I'll also gladly take my experience elsewhere.

@Nd24002 I hate it too. Sometimes I feel better after it's done though. It feels good to get that stuff out.
