Q: I’ve heard claims that the Red Cross refuses to accept convalescent plasma from individuals who have received a COVID-19 vaccine because it wipes out the antibodies. Is this true?
A: There are claims circulating that incorrectly state that the Red Cross will not accept convalescent plasma donations from those who have received the COVID-19 vaccine because “the vaccine wipes out those antibodies making the convalescent plasma ineffective in treating other COVID-19 patients.” This is not accurate.
Due to the decline in hospital demand and because the Red Cross and our industry partners have been able to build a sufficient supply of convalescent plasma to meet the foreseeable needs of COVID-19 patients the Red Cross stopped collecting convalescent plasma completely on June 14.

Convalescent plasma is a treatment for covid & has nothing to do with regular blood donation, skimming for platelets or the shortage of blood donors. Lowlives misconstrue basic facts for their own twisted purposes. More social media garbage.

@ineedadrink It's great to get the real facts from SW experts. Even if their language borders on the insulting.
ineedadrink · 51-55, M
@WalterF Well I'm no expert, just someone who took 30 seconds to find material to debunk "stuff" that folks would have to gullible believe.
WalterF · 70-79, M
@ineedadrink Maybe keep the language down, to "gullible", perfectly acceptable in debate, and away from inflammatory terms like lowlife / twisted / garbage? Big difference.
ElwoodBlues · M
Nope, Walter, that's false. As @AbbySvenz points out, the Red Cross itself says no blood shortage. I'm not gonna bother to track down exactly which goofball conspiracy theory website you fed you that falsehood, but it's dead wrong.

@ElwoodBlues If you looked at your message inbox on here from time to time, you might get a surprise. But as obviously nobody ever takes the slightest interest in you, you never go there. Take a look anyway

@WalterF Huh, look at that - stuff piles up there sometimes.
So you put up several conspiracy theory "cartoons" and I gave them a close reading and showed you a lot of errors that are obvious to a person accustomed to reading journal articles. And you ignored everything I wrote! Now you want me to do another close reading? For what? Case in point: you won't acknowledge that the [c=BF0000]Red Cross[/c] itself gives the lie to your claim.
In short, it's a waste of my time debunking your latest conspiracy theories if you maintain your immunity to the basic facts in my earlier debunkings.

What surprises me is the venom and scorn which so many people spew when there is the slightest challenge to their medical beliefs.
ElwoodBlues · M
@WalterF Speaking only for myself, I reserve my venom and scorn for obvious or easily checked falsehoods.

THIS is kinda scary.
The implications are a little terrifying.
If covid vaccines were all they Claim to be... Then why be wary? 🤷♀️

@OogieBoogie
THIS is kinda scary.
It's also completely false. If you follow the links others have given, directly to the Red Cross, they, the Red Cross, completely debunk the claim.
OogieBoogie · F
@ElwoodBlues OK. 👍
WalterF · 70-79, M
@OogieBoogie Watch this space. Plenty more stuff for the Cabal Supporters to debunk, coming soon
