when making a decent mask at home go for the finest weave possible and layers. the smaller weave will leave smaller holes, and the layers will help make up for what holes are there.
@UnlikelyTomato Also, for a better fit the fabric is supposed to be a bit stretchy... I believe the tutorial recommends "old leggings", but I don't have that... Fortunately my old t-shirt was a bit stretchy somehow...
@drymer stretch can make a nice seal, but can also widen holes in the weave. I would use a stretchy material for the outside and edges, but use something firmer to layer the inside. best of both worlds.
