I Have Gained Weight

My picture I use are 4 years old from my first/second year of high school I’m going to be a senior now and I’m 40 pounds fatter now than I was in these pics I am extremely uncomfortable with this topic I’m nearly in tears because of what I’ve done to myself but I hope to find support and people to motivate me to lose 45 pounds by this time next year

I am battling a weight problem myself. I have found that eating a low carb diet with small portions, only eating when hungry and only eating until you are no longer hungry (instead of feeling "full") works for me. Too many carbs make you hungrier and also make you store fat more easily. If you read labels, you will be amazed at how many carbs are in most commercial foods. High fructose corn syrup is especially tough on overweight people. What "low carb" means depends of which "expert" you decide to listen to; it can range from 20 grams a day (which I adhere to) to 50 grams a day. Make any carbs you eat natural ones with plenty of fiber like non starchy vegetables. Measure your carbs as actual carbs not "net carbs" which is basically a commercial trick to convince you the product is not really too loaded with carbs.

Drink plenty of water and get some fresh air and exercise every day for your general health.

Think of weight loss and eventually weight maintenance as part of a general habit of taking care of yourself, including dental care (I use a water flosser) and emotional care (being around friends, having enough alone time, avoiding trouble, difficult people and dangerous situations etc.)

Message me for support if you like. I struggle with my weight every day; it's a lifetime project.
Well stressing yourself out can make it worse. That is one reason a lot of diets don't work. Just stay calm and if you want to lose weight make it a long term goal. Not trying to lose 20 pounds in 5 days or something.

Do yourself a favor. Don't be in a big hurry. Eat sensibly, get a little exercise, and be patient. Don't wreck your health, OK?

It's extremely common for people to gain weight out of high school, so please don't feel bad about yourself! Instead of setting a goal of losing 45 pounds in a year, start with smaller goals first, like drinking more water and exercising for 30 minutes a day, and go from there. Good luck! 😊

Start eating smart and exercise more if possible. Go at your own pace but be consistent and stay disciplined. You will get there

45 pounds is possible but unhealthy
I guess the most important thing is to recognize something which you did. Now the 40 lbs you gained how does that corrlate to your BMI?

If there is an issue there, then you can work on plan to help maintain a balance between your food intake, physical activities and weight.

45 lbs is definitely doable within a year. I lost about 50 lbs myself since last september.
