Think its time to get back into exercising and clean eating

starting to slowly get the dad bod and letting myself go a bit.
I miss being young and being able to eat and drink as much crap as i could and not gain shit. Nowadays if I even look at a donut, I gain weight.

In saying that though, I know when its time to take better care of myself and can not for the life of me understand how people eat their way to obesity and to the point they cant even leave their houses.
I also dont understand why people glorify being fat now and claim its healthy and beautiful (only when its women of course).
Its not healthy or beautiful. Its just lazy mentality and instead of putting in the work to get healthier they would rather try forcing this mentality on people because in 2022 feelings is the only thing that matters

I get where you're coming from and agree that going as far as 'celebrating' is the wrong thing, but sadly just 'accepting' seems too much for some people. Leaving aside extremes (too big to physically leave the house etc) 'fat people' exist and have a day to day existence and shouldn't feel like an exception or abnormality for how they look. I'm a big gal. I get up and go to work and go shopping like anyone else does. People are free to think whatever they like and follow their own lifestyle and be happy with the choice they've made, they can feel as superior as they like over me and believe that they are 'right' and healthy or whatever but as long as they leave people alone to live their own life. It doesn't matter if you have good intentions, it's an individual's choice if they want to lose weight (and this is without mentioning those who it's not possible for, through medical or other situations)

@nightjourney exactly. Its all very crazy that people even are having this discussion now and that there are people trying to put obesity as a healthy lifestyle. I get some people have other issues that get them to the obese mark but dont try and push it as healthy. Just call it what it is

Some people use food as a crux for a shitty life, comfort food they call it. It's a hard mentality to break. It doesn't help that Fat people have always been marginalised and looked down upon. Even you claimed they don't look sexy.
Though having 5 kilos over your BMI is healthy. Being over 30 kilos isn't.

Best things I found were stopping drinking alcohol and soda, that makes an immediate difference in a week. Stuffed peppers with rice and spices fills you up after like 1 and a half and it's not that calorific. Also I've stopped trying to lose weight and focused more on making my muscles show, easier and more sustainable and you get more out of it.

@Ryannnnnn yeah the alcohol is what i am sure has done it in for me. After i finish what i have left here tonight, that is it for now and just going back to water. Stuffed peppers with rice sounds good. I will try that. I normally just go with chicken breast and broccoli day after day.
Only eat one meal per day and with exercise, it isnt overly hard to lose the weight. Its more just getting into the mindset and being motivated to stick with it because it gets boring as hell, food wise

I'm gonna be the dissenting voice here 😆 I'm fat, pretty huge in fact. I know it's not necessarily healthy long-term, but I don't think weight necessarily has a bearing on how attractive a person is. I feel good and I'm happy in my body - why should I be attacked or marginalised for that? Let's respect everyone's choices to eat how they want
