That’s not strange, that’s what they teach you in Sunday school; however, I think it’s naive. First, the Bible doesn’t actually say anywhere that sex before marriage is a sin. The other part is, it’s not necessarily a healthy goal. What if your first turns out to like completely different things in sex than you do? How do you know what you really like until you’ve tried at least a few different things? Western conservatives put such a huge stigma on virginity and sex, but it’s really not that big a deal.

@SW-User My point is, the Hebrew word, I think it’s fornikea but I’d rather not take the time to look it up again, that in English versions of the Bible gets translated as “fornication” doesn’t include sex between two unmarried consenting adults. English doesn’t have a word with the exact same meaning as the Hebrew word, so I guess fornication is just the closest fit they could come up with. The Bible never says that sex between an unmarried man and an unmarried woman is wrong. In fact it never says that sex between any two unmarried adults is wrong, but that’s a whole other can of worms.
