Do you think when a couple divorces that if they truly are making a clean break there wouldn't be so much fighting?

Human emotions are hard to just squelch

There isn't always fighting, my second divorce there was very little if any fighting, more sadness on both sides than anger

Sounds reasonable.
It's a power struggle, hence the fighting.
