Through Richmond Park today. It's all looking very scorched. Beautiful weather.

@MenzernaSF4000 I think we're talking about the same thing. Wheel truing and spoke alignment ; is simply making sure all,the spokes are tightened and tensioned to make the wheel truly circular in the vertical and horizontal plain. Get it wrong and there's a buckle or a bumpy ride.

You can buy a jig to put on a work bench that makes it easier. I just haven't afforded myself the luxury. The alternative is to do it by eye with the wheel on the bike and that's where I come unstuck!

I cycled all the time as a kid and when I started driving didn't really get back on a bike till I had my own kids. Then I really got the bug and started commuting and doing weekend long rides, a) to do something that I like to clear the mind (b) to try and maintain some level of fitness in my more senior years Lol.

When the hills start getting hard I'm tempted to buy an e bike or build one from a kit.

My wife has started cycling too and now that the kids are older we can take ourselves off on the bikes to nice parks and off the trail beauty spots and have some fun and chill out time with a pic nic and a bottle of wine. But today was just me.

@Ironicman yup, truing and spoke alignment is same thing. I am part of local cycling club, club is backed by a cycle shop owner. Sometimes various cycle companies organise bike or maintenance event. I got my wheels fixed for free during one such event. Lol

I too stopped riding after I learn to drive. Since I am member of the club, we have group rides every weekend. Longest ride I did with them was 160 kms. It was so so fun. We all use to come back with tanned arms and legs. Haha.

Only thing I don't like about cycling is lack of dedicated path. We have to share road with main traffic. People at times zoom past us just for fun. 😐

This is my actual bike, the other was a stock photo. Taken on a ridge of the North Downs in England @MenzernaSF4000
