I can’t believe someone said Icelandic. That’s kinda cool.

@Zeuro I have hundreds of songs.

@SW-User Lyrics and translation to the first song in the playlist that I linked.

Good moon in the sky you feel,
Góða tungl um loft þú líður,

Sweet cloudy silver shot.
Ljúft við skýja silfur skaut.

As the will of the Almighty dictates,
Eins og viljinn alvalds býður,

After your certain path.
Eftir þinni vissu braut.

To all who are weary, let your light shine,
Öllum þreyttum, ljós þitt ljáðu,

Sneak in through everyone's window.
Læðstu um glugga sérhvern inn.

Be humble, suffer hearts
Lát í húmi, hjörtun þjáðu

To all who are weary, let your light shine,
Öllum þreyttum, ljós þitt ljáðu,

Sneak in through everyone's window.
Læðstu um glugga sérhvern inn.

Be humble, suffer hearts
Lát í húmi, hjörtun þjáðu

Hawaiian. I love how vowel-heavy it is.

@SW-User it did have a similarity to Middle Persian yes, about 90% of the vocabulary was shared and both influenced each other. It diverged a bit with Farsi and modern Armenian.

@SW-User it is, they're both Oghuz Turkic languages, so they're very similar.

@NickiHijab bummer. I learned Icelandic from birth just like English. I know Broken Norwegian and really broken Irish… or Celtic.
NickiHijab · F
@DarkHeaven I mean, I'm not Arab so I didn't get taught it from birth. I did learn it as a child, mostly to read it but I've never had to communicate with it so not the best person to ask lol.
@NickiHijab I love your English accent. It gives me the goosies. 😊

Love Japanese. Probably #1. Greek may be my second-favorite. I've spent time in Greece but I can't say I really know how to speak it. As much as I love traveling too, I'm good at learning a language for a trip, but then things tend to leave my mind.

Oh, and whatever this is:

French and Italian are the most beautiful languages. I probably favor French but I have no cultural tie to Italian, so I totally get it. I grew up speaking Icelandic and English because my Da immigrated to US as a teen and spoke both to us kids, and even through Icelandic is kind of brutal ugly language compared to the Romance languages… I can’t help but love it a little because of the cultural tie. So, I get it.

Even when they are angry, it’s beautiful.

@DarkHeaven I do love the sound of French, I listen to quite a bit of French music
@Zeuro I like to understand the lyrics so it’s either English or Icelandic for me.
thepreposterouspanda · 31-35, M
German is my favorite. I also really enjoy the sound of Icelandic. :)
@thepreposterouspanda Really? My people’s language? I don’t think I’ve ever heard that before. It’s kind of harsh sounding and we don’t have near the words that like English does. We have some 'tökuorð,' (“loan word”,) but not many.
thepreposterouspanda · 31-35, M
@DarkHeaven I can't quite put my finger on what I like about it so much, but it's just a comforting thing for some reason. :)
@thepreposterouspanda We’ll here’s a bunch of it by one of my favorite Icelandic bands. If you want translation, let me know.
