I saw this prompt on a creative writing site, and I decided to give it a shot. It isn't finished by any means, and I wrote it in just a few minutes out of boredom. So, don't judge too harshly. Should I finish it..?
(Also, I typed this on Word, but SW doesn't transfer grammatical stuff well. So, ignore those grammatical errors.)

PROMPT: A package arrives at your character’s house, but they didn’t order anything. Write about what happens next.

The doorbell rings.
And rings.
And rings.
I look up from my third cup of lukewarm coffee. I haven’t ordered anything. I’m not expecting anyone.
Persistent, hard, raps on the door begin. Paralyzed in fear, as is my fight or flight response- (Secret option numero tres, freeze.) Trembling hands grip my coffee mug that I now fear will shatter or slip from my sweaty palms. I tug the sleeves of my sweater down, an anxious habit I developed during my youth. I peek around the corner of the wall in my kitchen towards the front door. My cat, Chuckie, (named after Chuckie from Rugrats, who is afraid of everything) is curled up fast asleep in the sunbeam shining through the window.
“Well, if he’s not scared”- I think.
Slowly, I rise from the kitchen table, setting my mug down. I slip through the hallway slowly, stepping around Chuckie, who surprisingly hasn’t looked up and mewled his usual greeting. Peeking through the curtains, I see nothing. Slowly, I open the front door. A parcel has been placed on my porch; a bow tied around the UPS box with a tag attached. Odd. Why go to the trouble of tying the bow and attaching a tag if you aren’t going to wrap the box? Slowly, I lift the box, trying to inspect the gift tag. The sun has started to set. (Damn you, daylight savings!) Leaning back inside the doorframe, I flick the switch to illuminate the porch stoop. My eyes take a minute to adjust, but once they do, I notice the note on the tag is much longer than just a simple to and from memo. The message reads:
Open ASAP. Follow the clues to save your cat, or he may not be the only one in danger.
