All those floods in the middle of America, meanwhile we have towns closing down because the water table is gone from inland California 😔

Yep. Climate extremes. Everything out of balance.

Hopefully at some point we finally solve the fusion problem for clean, limitless energy, which can in turn meet the huge energy requirements of desalination plants in arid coastal areas (so long as desalination can be implemented with zero harm to the environment, from dealing with the leftover salt, to not sucking marine life into water intakes).

And when most of the world could now benefit from desalination plants once they become more environmentally friendly, there is zero reason to still have any salt production industry that is NOT at a desalination plant.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry at this.
