Nigel Farage part 2

Just when you thought things could not get any sillier . .

NF has now declared himself leader of Reform UK and announced that he will stand for election in the Conservative seat of Clacton, having 10 days earlier ruled himself out. Incumbent Tory MP Giles Watling (who must today consider himself to be the unluckiest man in parliament) has offered to give Farage a guided tour of the constituency.

If I were you, I'd keep away from the cliffs Nigel 馃槈

It would be spectacular irony, if Farage died by falling off the white cliffs of Dover.

Please understand, I don't wish that.

However,...

@Burnley123 It's the way he would have wanted it . . 馃

@SunshineGirl He could get deported to Rwanda, travel by Eurostar and be force converted to Islam en route.

When he gets there, he finds out his new job is to rap in Grime videos. Then, he dies of tobacco withdrawal.

On the stairway to heaven he is held up by a long line of Romanian refugees. We he eventually gets to the Pearly Gates, St Peter says: "Sorry mate but you're out of luck. We are all full up and have this new policy to keep the numbers down. I know you have a sad story but I don't care because we need to protect our borders."

I don't know much about UK politics but Nigel seems like a complete nut case
Markmywurdz56-60, M
@Patty81 A 鈥榥utcase鈥 who got the referendum he wanted, despite having no sitting MPs (or was it one MP, I can鈥檛 remember) and then won that referendum in the face of widespread government opposition.

@paulio He does not tell it "like it is", just as Trump does not. They tell it as their supporters would like it to be, marginalising and excluding every minority interest group when it fits the popular narrative.
JustJanF
he visited Clacton today Tuesday 4th June and the Locals aren't all for him

I know little to nothing about British politics, but I always thought he was a good guy.

@whowasthatmaskedman So why does France, who got rid of the monarchy, gave far mord tourists busiting it's former royal palaces? And, let's be honest if I were a tourist in another country, and some royal / Presidential event were happening, I'd probably be interested to see what went on. The tourist pull of the royals is greatly exaggerated, and over reported by a compliant media.
whowasthatmaskedman70-79, M
@22Michelle Have you seen the British weather???馃樂
DallasCowboysFan61-69, M
@22Michelle Well, the palace of Versailles is beautiful in many ways. And it's in the middle of Paris, where tourists can see many other things.
Why can't he just bog off to bum Trump instead???
SunshineGirl36-40, F
@ninalanyon He was surprisingly active in Brussels (given that he wanted to abolish parliament) but he had plenty of like-minded colleagues there. If he does get elected, he may be the only Reform UK MP. He will likely sit with rump of the Conservative Party that he has helped to destroy, and he will be the natural first port of call when debating how well Brexit is going 馃槍
@SunshineGirl One seat wonder won't get much of a voice in parliament, though - and the only reason he was so vocal in Brussels was more because he wanted a no deal Brexit.

Still waiting for him to emigrate now that his Brexit hasn't worked, though...
22Michelle61-69, T
@SunshineGirl Won't it be the 8th?
OldBrit61-69, M
I love how he just installs himself as leader. And people can't see the concern of him running for parliament / pm. Just look at a bit of history folks....
SunshineGirl36-40, F
@OldBrit Let us hope that the electorate of Clacton react suitably to their constituency being hijacked.
OldBrit61-69, M
@SunshineGirl sadly I doubt it we seem to be sleep walking into the 2030s resembling the 1930s I afraid.
paulioM

whowasthatmaskedman70-79, M
@paulio Yes. There is a big difference. Nigel dresses much better..
22Michelle61-69, T
@paulio Same thing.
meggieF
He's very entertaining, but most people wouldn't take him seriously.
Picklebobble256-60, M
A man with ego and drive but no influence.
whowasthatmaskedman70-79, M
Farage obviously fancies his chances using the US political model lessons he has learned. Lets see if he is right....馃樂

peoipel who vote reform will do it regardless of who is leadwr or tiny party
HotPizza7151-55, M
So who was the leader before Garage named himself the dictator..I mean ...leader?
Burnley12341-45, M
@HotPizza71 Neither has anyone else.

Farage and Tice probably planned this for a long time. They've waited a week or so into the election campaign to get maximum news coverage.

With the Tories in meltdown, Farage has his best chance yet to be an MP. They will not get anymore but they will split the Tory vote, possibly forcing that Party in a US Republican style direction.
OldBrit61-69, M
@HotPizza71 he's been leader of Reform UK for a couple of years at least. Another multi millionaire who used to back the Conservative Party, wanted to edit the EU as presumably it prevented some dodgy business practices he wanted to follow so jumped to the Brexit party and earned a very nice pension from us as one of the last UK MEPs.
HotPizza7151-55, M
@OldBrit as did farage ( make a fortune as an MEP!)Nobody In parliament works for the common man,just themselves and there mates
tenente100+, M
