In Dutch parliament there is a rule that during someone's first speech, no questions may be asked.

A while ago, thousands of people were falsely accused of fraud with child support, simply for having a foreign last name, put in huge debt and 1500 children were taken away from their parents.

Thursday there was a debate to get some answers on how this could happen and when these parents could see their children again.

Can you guess what the party responsible for this mess did? Yep, they sent a new member to obstruct questions and avoid having to explain anything. 😡

When they were called out on this, they called it an error of judgment. Nope, it's too obvious this was intentional.

@NerdyPotato To be honest a full term is totally rare in our government. 😅
The alternatives are often not that great either though. 😶
@Classified fair enough, on both accounts 😅

Soo... when do politicians have to answer for why they did what they did to the Dutch public who elected them??? 🤔
@HootyTheNightOwl by the looks of it, never. And apparently the majority of citizens doesn't care about it either. The cabinet was forced to step down over this racist treatment, but then pretty much the same people were reelected. 🤦🤷
