Bali Bombing Twenty Years On

🙏🏼 Twenty years on 🙏🏼

On Saturday night the 12th October 2002 just after 11pm a suicide bomber detonated a bomb inside the nightclub Paddy's Bar, in Kuta on the Indonesian island of Bali.

Very shortly after, as people retreated from Paddy’s into the street, there was a second explosion of a homemade bomb in a vehicle outside the Sari Club which was opposite the first blast.

About 10km away another bomb placed in front of the US consulate in Denpasar was detonated remotely.

From such a horrific events, came so many stories of incredible resilience, strength and amazing acts of heroism.

202 lives were lost and the lives of so many others changed forever.

Today, 20 years on, we remember them all.
The victims, the survivors, their families & friends, the amazing first responders & specialist agencies from all over the world that assisted on every level & the beautiful locals who felt the brunt of this senseless act of terrorism for many years to come while tourism recovered slowly.
