A few thousand NATO troops bombing the Russians into oblivion would be better.

@TheSirfurryanimalWales would you really risk a nuclear strike on Cardiff to save a bit of Ukrainian territory?

@Yulianna if Putin suspected NATO was moving in he’d scarper.And there would be mass surrender.
And I concur with the correspondents of Annas vlog that it is the only way this ends....unless Putin is assassinated.
Even he can’t be in sole control of Russias nuclear codes.
There would be no nuclear war.
Although I have read one of the guys who held them has been murdered.
And if food and fuel prices keep rising something will happen.
The world can’t be held to ransom for long.
Of that I am sure.....

@TheSirfurryanimalWales 🇺🇦🌻🏴 there are as many theories as there are self styled experts...
i want the optimists to be correct, but i am a cynic when it comes to human nature and self interest, especially political self interest.

I feel like I emigrated to a new country called Australia a few weeks ago. I quite like it and am glad I fled the other one of the same name.

@KiwiBird Yes, you're correct. But my statement stands. Pacific. Overseas aid. Uluru statement. Rise in basic wage. Anti corruption commission on the way. A semi-decent climate target. Robodebt Royal Commission (a shameful disgrace), reconsidering deportations.
I didn't vote Labor - Australia needs a hung parliament to be really free of the suffocating effects of big-end of town lobby groups on sensible policy. Advantage of preferential system means you can have an each-way bet.

@Abstraction Ditto! :)
@KiwiBird That's true. Most Aussies feel horrified by Putin's actions and support our govt sending aid to Ukraine - even though we are still in massive debt due to Covid and the increasing natural disasters of climate change.
One facet of this feeling is about showing China that we don't appreciate states that try to enlarge beyond their existing borders. In particular, we are aware of Putin's ties with China and China's desire to expand into other Asian and Pacific countries.
