MAGA Republicans have made me appreciate a lot of folks I didn’t before. Of course, I didn’t think they were monsters before, just a bit out of touch. But people like MTG, Lauren Boebert, Ted Cruz, DeSantis, Nikki Haley, Gaetz, Hawley, and of course, Trump, they’re monsters. And so are the folks who support them.

@bijouxbroussard How ironic, the sign where Jim Jones (the cult in Guyana) sat, "Those who have not learned the lessons of the past are doomed to repeat it" Both his supporters and boot licking cohorts will sip the "kool aid" gladly.
People who don't question politics, law enforcement leaders, teachers, preachers at a pulpit, Are ALL prone to
power- hungry sociopaths. These followers are a threat to themselves, to their families and the general public.
Parents need to teach their children how to think for themselves, question EVERYTHING and how to recognize signs and symptoms of a cult or one in the making.

She is still hard core, big business, destroy the environment Republican. However I respect her for taking a stand and her self confidence. When Republicans like her get too much power, I can hold my nose until it’s over, but with MAGA reds, I have to dodge bullets till it’s over.

It's crazy, isn't it? When she's upheld as some kind of hero, given her track record, for merely acknowledging the truth...
And man is she an enemy to the real 'mericans for that.

@Ynotisay I know. My parents are likely rolling over in their grave about now.
Ynotisay · M
@Grateful4you I bet they would have ZERO recognition of what it's become.
Grateful4you · M
@Ynotisay Exactly. Had all this happened overnight I'd be 6ft. under from a massive stroke. Even now, the current state of events is too surreal. If a movie, the critics would dismiss it as "Unrealistic, perverse, garbage"

@BackyardShaman Beautifully expressed. My main thought was that we desperately needed a catalyst to spark energy and interest and focus of possible crimes committed by Trump and his circle of seditious traitors that up to that point before her committee were being more or less swept under the rug and forgotten.
She has at least managed to splinter what Republicans thought they had as a solid block at least now some are questioning how they want their party perceived. Trump is less confident now that he knows he is NOT above the law, he knows the idea of criminal charges are a valid concern, and moreover, he is less assured about 202 4 given mounting support of Ron DeSantis. To many of us, Trumpworld seems to be falling apart.

Maybe that's the new strategy. Empower all the batshit crazy leaders until people are begging for the previous ones lol

@plungesponge As my Jewish mom would shrug and say, "So? my chicken soup may not help but oy, it wouldn't hurt" Chicken soup Hebrew opium. Imma market this remedy and sell it to "MAGA"

They've all converted to Trumpism. They've really become a perfect example of what a cult is.
Grateful4you · M
@TrumpIsFinallyGone Exactly right.

She has courage to stand up to the nuts

The "it could never happen here" crowd is definitely getting a wakeup call. Republicans are marching us to fascism and cheering the whole way.
Grateful4you · M
@ViciDraco Exactly, I remember years before Trump and Covid, driving home from a work related conference with our medical director. Somehow, the subject of Nazi Germany came up. Our Director said, "That could never happen here in the USA" I remember thinking to myself, "what a stupid moronic thing to say", it was almost like him daring some kind of political karma. So much of what has happened here in the recent past is identical to events that happened in Germany.
As a gay atheist with a last name suggesting possible Jewish lineage, I would be targeted immediately. Possibly better gased early on than years of torment and suffering I guess.

@Grateful4you disabled atheist who has publicly expressed left wing ideology. Global left, not American left.

@BohemianBabe Pathetic as it is, I admit you're absolutely right.
