Not the Eternal but the City of Lights! [I Am French (parisian)]

Thomas Jefferson said:
“A walk about Paris will provide lessons in history, beauty, and in the point of life.”

I know Paris as home, as the place I was born in 1999! It is me, and I am it!

King Francis I said:
“Paris is not a city; it’s a world.”

It is to me! I grew up here, and it is more to me than home! I am from the area called Passy, in the sixteenth arrondissement. I went to school at the institut de la Tour, and on to university. I have centred my life here!

Ernest Hemingway said:
“There are only two places in the world where we can live happy—at home and in Paris.”

Henry Miller said:
"When spring comes to Paris the humblest mortal alive must feel that he dwells in paradise."

And, James Thurber said:
“…the whole of Paris is a vast university of Art, Literature and Music…it is worth anyone’s while to dally here for years. Paris is a seminar, a post-graduate course in Everything.”

Life and living in Paris and the feelings you have make non Parisians consider us aloof and even arrogant!

Kristin Hannah, in The Nightingale observed:
“I had forgotten how gently time passes in Paris. As lively as the city is, there’s a stillness to it, a peace that lures you in. In Paris, with a glass of wine in your hand, you can just be.”

However, the truth is simple! Friedrich Nietzsche felt this to be true:
“An artist has no home in Europe except in Paris.”

Honoré de Balzac also said much, simply in:
“Whoever does not visit Paris regularly will never really be elegant.”

I got food poisoning in Paris. Then I had to attend a wedding two days later. I could barely stand up.

I lived near Place de Clichy for a couple of months. I loved it.
Should Europe ever become a united country (like the US), then I think Paris, and not Bruxelles, should be its capital.
