Sad Incident In London at the turn of the Twentieth Century Captured by a Camera.

Cannon Row Police Officer was called to this incident that occurred outside No. 22, Pall Mall, London, SW1. This sad event happened shortly after the turn of the 20th Century.
Soon after this picture was taken the horse was pronounced dead by the attending vet (pictured).
All Metropolitan Police Officers had in their possession a blue coloured Form 29 that had to be completed by the officer and the vet to complete the formal paperwork when dealing with a horse incident. These forms were carried by all Met officers well into the 1970's.
The vehicle involved is a Hansom cab.
