Fellowship Dynamics

The dynamics of church fellowship is always interesting- I love fellowship after the service with a coffee in hand, especially with new people.

But I do have to balance this with a love for other Christian family I write about- I can't just ignore others who aren't as confident at socialising.

A couple come in- a Afrikaaner man and his British origin Zimbabwean wife. After church he goes out for a cigarette and she is left sitting by herself.

I do really want to say hi to a new family who've arrived but my wife springs ahead and greets them with the Luton charm so I feel obliged to talk to the lady. I imagine she is the sort of lady when at an event she sticks around with her husband, the opposite of my wife, where at an event, she loves mingling like I do.

So I get talking to her- she's very serious, a bit intense and doesn't mirror me either, but she's a nice lady and it was good talking to her.

After the man mingles and comes back he shows gratitude that I took time to talk to his wife and they head off, so I can resume talking with everyone.

I would've loved to have mingled as per my usual habits and met the new family we hadn't seen before but Christ calls us to see the unseen and draw near to the overlooked, especially Christian brothers and sisters.

I love church fellowship and all the characters you get to meet!

I like fellowship too. I'm quiet and prefer listening. I enjoy watching everyone interact. I'm still getting to know everyone's name. Lot's of names to remember 🤭🤷🏻
@Promises I'm always great at remembering faces but not names!
