There are hundreds of sects and variations in every other major world religion.
Christianity is not unique in that attribute.

Honestly if Jesus came back to see most of the churches that I've been to He'd topple the tables, let people know that they don't need to pay money to receive the Holy Spirit, and that women shouldn't be pastors nor should people blow the horn when tithing. Everything just felt so wrong according to what I've read in the Bible.

That's less likely to happen when they base their church community on something objective and central, like the Bible. When it's based on human philosophy anything can happen

I moved from the least religious state in the Union to the middle of the Bible belt. I swear there is a church on every block. The Church of Latter Day Baptist Adventist Methodists Calvinist Revisionists. It's ridiculous. Religion isn't about faith, they are businesses like fast food restaurants. The Catholic Church is the Taco Bell of Religions

There's big money in having your own denomination. Is it so surprising that there would be so many?

I think it progressed with time, migrations, and adapted to survive. Which is what I like about it…there’s something for everyone to relate/believe in.

In the end all religions are really pretty much the same. Be good and you'll be fine.

In my opinion, I think it all originated from one and then split up by people who didn't believe in some aspects of the original religion. Those who lead a group of people may have made up their own beliefs and traditions. This is what I have noticed in my own religion.

That's why I don't believe in organized religion. People should worship on their own in private.

It's the same with Islam. People just make small differences into big issues
