there's this guy at my work who is a contractor and he is changing my perspective on my career

Normally I think I have considered that contract work isn't worth it because you don't have job security.

But they generally pay more. Also this guy basically makes his own holidays. Between contracts if he has the money he can take a year off if he likes.

Maybe contacting isn't so bad.
