Anyone with an art degree? What career path did you choose?

hunkalove · 61-69, M
I have a B.A. in English Lit, and I have always been a creative person. I spent my entire working life in restaurants and retail. Now that I'm too old and feeble to work I'm lucky if I get to eat everyday. I would never recommend anyone study something like Art.

@hunkalove That's the Word, man! And I say that as an Arts grad.

Arts degree doesn't lead to any kind of career except some school/University teaching job. But that's also limited to a very few. Education is all about science in modern competitive world. Whatever job you'll do, that arts degree will hardly be any use for it, unfortunately.

Writing. Photographer.
But ended up in the Navy as an Engineer. Pay was better and lifetime trade. Still writing. Still photographing. 👍😎

I have a BA and MA, liberal rather than fine arts. 25 year career in government to mid-management level.
I really wish I studied art at university.
Bachelors in computer science.
