it's a measured gamble, if you're smart. i've started a business that was highly successful and sold it for a nice profit. i think you have to have a mind for it, and be willing to do whatever it takes, which is usually more than a job working for someone else.

Generally, yeah. I mean, most people start their businesses because they're passionate about something, but passion is only part of the equation. If there is little to no market demand for the products or services you offer, all the passion in the world isn't going to drive customers to your business.

You should create a business to fill a need in your community, not a need in your personal life.
