Um, yes, I wear glasses to see

Working in what used to be a male dominated field baffles me.

I jumped on a zoom call early today at work.
Today someone made a comment that they didn’t realize I wore glasses - to see. Seriously?
One of the men said no, she’s just tying to look smart, and at least his accomplishments showcase his talents.
I piped in that no, I can’t see without them and reminded the group I graduated from the same university that this dick attended.
He doesn’t know that his division is being dismantled, all positions RIFd. My boss let me know that I’ll be signing off on all the people we keep.

If you can’t be nice, don’t be a dick. Mine’s bigger.

I’m glad you wear glasses to see , I tried them once to hear better and for some reason they didn’t work. Maybe they needed batteries.

My grandmother had a framed quote on the wall in their house. "It's better to remain silent and thought a fool, than to speak up and remove all doubt". I didn't understand it as a kid, but I've learned the wisdom in it.

And I wear glasses, too. but not to enhance or correct my vision. But to protect my eyes from bright light.

@Sidewinder I get you.
It sounds like he was thinking out loud. I'm thinking the other guy was kidding.

@Spoiledbrat You’re probably right.
People are judgemental all the time

That's why it's never a good idea to badmouth anybody in the office. You never know who's going to be in charge of deciding whether you keep your job.
