My sister gave my mother a flat bowl with lots of little stones in it. She only needs to fill the bowl with water, so that the stones are still above the water line and put it in the garden. That gives the bees and butterflies a place were they can drink water safely by sitting on the stones.

I have stones in 2 of my birdponds too. (had shared a post last yr) @Mugin16 I also have this little portable one that I keep moving around, placing it in the shade, away from the other animals, and closer to trees.
