@Adrift If it’s a small dog maybe you can make it a little hammock-swing to lay in. Probably therapeutic for them.

@Justenjoyit I watched a little video and the birds sway back and forth a bit as the car is moving. They seemed to enjoy it very much.

@Stereoguy No. Haven’t had a reason to do that. When I bought 4 parakeets in a tall cage about 16 years ago at a yard sale I laid the cage down in the back seat to drive home. Was all good till I turned a corner and the doors on the cage slipped open and all 4 parakeets flew out and were flying around in my car. I stopped at a couple of lights and the other drivers were staring like “Why is she letting parakeets fly around in the car”. Drove up to my driveway and sat there a couple minutes trying to figure out how I was going to get them in the cage without them flying out the doors when I got in the back seat. So I finally crawled over the backseat with the doors still closed and managed to catch each bird and slide the doors shut. When I got them all in the cage I went inside and got twisty-tie wire and tied each door shut. Then carefully pulled the cage out and carried it inside and went back out to the car and got the stand for the cage and set it up. The birds were quiet for the rest of the day probably disoriented from being moved and in a different house. When anyone came over they’d see them and ask what kind of birds they were and I would say “Parakeets”. In a few days they were saying “Parakeet” like I said it.
