How would you react if you did an ancestry test and your results say you're 30 percent Russian?

CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
I'm not entirely sure how do you figure out nationality through ancestry test but okay...If you mean Eastern Slavic ancestry that would be more than 30%.
If you take nationality and borders into consideration, you could be Evenki, Chechen, Chukchi or Moscovian and still Russian.

I'm sure a lot of East Germans, Poles and other Baltic countries would not be surprised.

Russian troops raped women in every country they conquered through WWII, especially the wholesale rape of E. German women, as they "celebrated" victory.

No difference to me..

I am who I am...

And my ancestors where who they where in their times...

I do not claim any favour/ pride because of my ancestors in what they did..

I do not suffer from any shame /dishonor because of my ancestors in what they did..

I would find it interesting but would have no emotional reaction.. The thing is there is a lot of Scandinavian blood in the Russian people the Rus meaning Red as in Red Hair was the origin of the name.. The same Nordic people who invaded and populated Russia later invaded and settled in many parts of western Europe and therefore lots of Russians and western Europeans have similar Nordic ancestry.. So it would not surprise me of many people shared 30% of the DNA that Russians have..

I doubt that would happen, because I'm not a big fan of vodka 😆
It wouldn't be a big deal but I'm not Russian.

My great great grandfather was Russian.
The info would make no difference.
I'd still be the same me.
There is no nation of people which has not committed horrific acts of war or genocide at some point in their history.

I'd probably say something like "cool" or "interesting" or "interesting that my sister didn't learn this when we were kids."
It wouldn't really matter.🤷‍♂️ I'm still the same person.

I would find it interesting.
I’d slow that part down.
I'd be scared of myself...
