For they have destroyed the things which thou hast made: but what has the just man done?

Christianity was shattered by Martin Luther and his Protestant successors. It has splintered into many denominations and sects. Since the Age of Enlightenment, it has been brought to ruination. The governments expelled Christ from schools and the people pursued pleasure. Secular thought swept through nations like a deadly tide. Where has the teaching of evolution led us? What hell has it unleashed? Was banning prayer in school a good thing for the people who once called themselves Christians?

The world wars did not help. They destroyed countries and led to economic and moral collapse. Once you have seen the darkness, it is a struggle to return to the lightness. Judaism is dead. Islam believes it is righteous to have more than one wife. Christianity is lost. The people have become pagans of the 21st century. We are in decay.

Protestants are about the self. They do not understand that religion requires communion and preservation of the sacred. Where is their personal faith getting them? They exalt the individual and diminish the Church.

@emiliya Wrong.

Luther wanted the Roman church to be honest.

• Selling indulgences flew in the face of a "sacred" church and made Popes just merchants hawking spiritual favors for profit.

• Going to the malleable well of "tradition" as a source weakens the primacy of the written text (hence, sola scriptura).

• Additions to the minimum soteriological requirements given by Jesus weakens critical components of the "Good News" (hence, sola fides).

• Inserting others between the believer and the Lord takes away personal responsibility and tries to give other fallible humans perogatives of God (hence, "the priesthood of all believers").

And the Roman church overemphasized the distance/unattainable nature of Jesus, rather than using His Life as an example to attempt to emulate (in terms of openness to others, etc.), as the Eastern church does.

@SomeMichGuy Why do you preach about faith? You do not understand the history. Nothing is known by you. The indulgences only deal with temporal punishment. This means you can still go to Hell or Purgatory. Those who received indulgences were expected to be in a state of grace and continue receiving the sacraments, including confession, which Luther likewise repudiated. He got rid of almost every sacrament. Protestantism is hollow and void. It is void of God. God has abandoned them after they abandoned Him.

Luther did not want the Church to be honest. He was an egoist and a rebel. This is not a man who wanted reform. It is a man who rebelled, denied ancient Church doctrine, and went to form his own religion. He was a heretic and a man without humility. There were others who questioned indulgences, yet they did not do away with the faith and create their own religion after making it void. Let us call it a religion of nothingness. Some of the saints questioned the indulgences. However, they remained true to the faith. You know very well that Luther went much further than he needed to go. This is not called reform; it is called rebellion and denial of the faith, the sacraments, and God. God gave authority to priestly men. Who do you think the disciples were? Peter is the founder of the Catholic Church. The Catholic Church is the most ancient Christian Church.

@SomeMichGuy “Going to the malleable well of "tradition" as a source weakens the primacy of the written text (hence,sola scriptura).”

Tradition is the source. Who came before you?

“And the Roman church overemphasized the distance/unattainable nature of Jesus, rather than using His Life as an example to attempt to emulate (in terms of openness to others, etc.), as the Eastern church does.”

The idea that Christ is open to all is perhaps the most evil view of all. Works are testament to our belief. The works will be present if the faith is present. God has no time for people who are lukewarm. Christ tells the sinner to “sin no more.”
@emiliya God's word is the source- interesting profile picture/s for someone obsessed with works.

@BritishFailedAesthetic It is a picture of a sad-looking female who bears a resemblance. None of my sins have been hidden. They are always exposed, never secret.
@emiliya "I'm going to justify my sin because I'm real" 😆

@BritishFailedAesthetic You have no answers.
@emiliya You say things like "Christianity has been shattered" you do not believe on the Gospel, just empty rituals.

Go to a Bible believing church that preaches the Gospel.
emiliya · 22-25, F
@BritishFailedAesthetic I believe in the Bible and in rituals. Bible is full of rituals. We are a ritual, body and soul.

“Go to a Bible believing church that preaches the Gospel.”

My Catholic church preaches it all the time. They are serious; you are not.
@emiliya Yes, by my posts I'm very unserious.

I wish I was as serious as someone whose profile picture used to show a couple in a doggystyle position.
emiliya · 22-25, F
@BritishFailedAesthetic You are not serious. How can a man who believes Catholic Church does not preach the gospel be serious?

My profile pictures seem to capture your attention. The one you speak of was several months ago, yet it has remained in your brain. Why?
@emiliya Just saying before you call someone else unserious, look at yourself.
