For they have destroyed the things which thou hast made: but what has the just man done?

Christianity was shattered by Martin Luther and his Protestant successors. It has splintered into many denominations and sects. Since the Age of Enlightenment, it has been brought to ruination. The governments expelled Christ from schools and the people pursued pleasure. Secular thought swept through nations like a deadly tide. Where has the teaching of evolution led us? What hell has it unleashed? Was banning prayer in school a good thing for the people who once called themselves Christians?

The world wars did not help. They destroyed countries and led to economic and moral collapse. Once you have seen the darkness, it is a struggle to return to the lightness. Judaism is dead. Islam believes it is righteous to have more than one wife. Christianity is lost. The people have become pagans of the 21st century. We are in decay.

Psalmus XI, 3 — Quoniam quae perfecisti destruxerunt: iustus autem quid fecit?

You're part of a state controlled denomination and you see Christianity as a set of rituals. We get it.

To get saved you need to realise that you have sinned before an infinitely glorious, thrice holy God and nothing you can do by yourself can get you into heaven.

Christ (God the Son) died on the cross and shed his blood on the cross for us and had God's wrath, rightfully meant for us, poured out on him.

If we recognise accepting this is and believing on it is the ONLY way to heaven, we will be saved.

The Gospel message will NEVER be shattered.

@BritishFailedAesthetic I am not Russian Orthodox. I was born to a Jew family and raised in the Jew religion. Now, I seek to be Catholic.

Christianity is a set of rituals. You do the work if you believe, and don't do the work if you do not believe or have been doomed by the Devil. This is what Satan does. He dooms us. You think your version of Christianity is working wonderfully for you as you stand on the grave of a beaten and battered religion. Christianity was ripped to shreds by Protestantism and the Age of Enlightenment. The big picture is amiss to you.

@BritishFailedAesthetic “The Gospel message will NEVER be shattered.”

Why is no one listening?
@emiliya Because the Gospel is rarely there in your desired denomination!

Oh and by the way you have had some very err... interesting.... profile pictures for a proffesing Christian.

@BritishFailedAesthetic even christ said he who was without sin. should cast the first stone. Do not judge someone else for judgment is save for the father. Remove the plank from your eye before you worry about the splinter in someone else's eye.
@dale74 Hmmm... I swear in the NT there was something about judging righteously.....
@dale74 Do these statements sound judgemental/casting the first stone to you?

Protestantism is its own religion. God is not in their house.

They are serious; you are not.

Don't be a simp mate.
@dale74 So yeah don't expect me to take kindly to statements like:

Protestants are about the self. They do not understand that religion requires communion and preservation of the sacred. Where is their personal faith getting them? They exalt the individual and diminish the Church.

@emiliya
It is a true statement.

Good, well what I said is true then too.
emiliya · 22-25, F
@BritishFailedAesthetic We have to speak the truth here. What truth are you speaking? You claimed that the Catholic Church does not preach the gospel. This is no truth; it is a lie and a wrong teaching.

You judge a profile picture; I judge your words and your religion. They are wrongheaded.
@emiliya Yeah, it's an interesting choice for a proffesing holier than thou Christian.

Bizarrely I don't take kindly to being called unserious when:

. I use my time doing Christian posts

. I attend a faithful biblical church.

. I pray and give to the persecuted church.

. I give to my church.

. I read my Bible and pray daily

@BritishFailedAesthetic Where did I profess this? I said that Christianity was shattered by Protestants. This is not untrue. I said that the big picture is amiss to you, and that your way is wrongheaded. You continue to imply that the Catholic Church is not faithful or biblical. Why? What do you think the priests talk about? They preach the Bible and give sermon. They stay faithful to the Church by also keeping the sacraments. Catholicism is faith and works, not faith alone.

What do you want me to say about what you claim to do? Catholics attend a faithful biblical church. They also pray every day and give to their church. Do you want a medal? The Catholic Church is the most giving and charitable Church in the world. The prayers are rich and full of worship, meaning, and spiritual truth. They can happen alone or in communion. Praying with the Rosary is beautiful and it comes from Scripture.

@BritishFailedAesthetic You now mention something interesting. I agree about Pope Francis. He was too liberal, and much of what he said was heresy. It is wrong to say that Christ has redeemed us all. This is crazy talk. It is terrible. Pope Francis was on the same path as Martin Luther. I like Pope Benedict XVI. He was a scholar and a man who sought to understand his faith in a most deep and devout way.

“We take the sacraments very seriously.”

You only kept two of them.

I attend my Catholic church every Sunday. The parish priest is not lukewarm. He preaches the Bible and is true to Scripture. During the Easter Mass, we kissed the feet of Christ, and we knelt and stood many, many times. We do this in every Mass, but the genuflections happen many times in Easter Mass. It is an act of worship. I am blessed by the priest every time. The Catholics receive the Eucharist. Confession is on a Saturday. Why don't you want to confess your sins to a priest? Would you not have confessed them to Peter?
@emiliya You kissed the feet of an idol of Christ?

Wow, if only there was a higher power we could confess our sins too!

Let me guess your church is shrinking and you're definitely the youngest there 🤭
emiliya · 22-25, F
@BritishFailedAesthetic It is a way to worship and honor God. You Protestants do not worship and honor God.

It is a busy church. I rarely sit on the pews. Why? There are worshippers already on them. I stand at the back of the church.
