God doesn't exist.

Change my mind.
Straylight · 31-35, F
If there’s no god, then how do you explain… this!? *pulls quarter from behind your ear* 🪙 Tada!
JoeyFoxx · 51-55, M
@Straylight again!
BitterSweetPotato · 31-35, F
You have really restored my faith in God AND in humanity.@Straylight
Straylight · 31-35, F
@BitterSweetPotato I live to serve.

Is God willing to prevent evil, but unable? Then He is not omnipotent. Is He able but not willing? Then He is malevolent.
Is He willing and able, then whence cometh evil? If He is neither able nor willing, why call him God? -Epicurus
Sharon · F
@Human1000 Because they're scared of it.
ninalanyon · 61-69, T
@LvChris I think you are missing Epicurus' point. The name God implies the morality. He is asserting our moral superiority to it and denying that it deserves the name with a capital G.

See also Ken Macleod's Engines of Light (http://strangehorizons.com/non-fiction/reviews/engines-of-light-the-gnostic-potboilers-of-ken-macleod/), and Terry Pratchett's Granny Weatherwax:
“I don't hold with paddlin' with the occult," said Granny firmly. "Once you start paddlin' with the occult you start believing in spirits, and when you start believing in spirits you start believing in demons, and then before you know where you are you're believing in gods. And then you're in trouble."
"But all them things exist," said Nanny Ogg.
"That's no call to go around believing in them. It only encourages 'em.”
Okay. Here's the argument you want edgelord....and vidi well little brother because I usually don't give ants much time beneath my boots.

Yaweh, jehovah, god, the one written about in the Torah does in no uncertain terms exist!

Pay attention, if you're half as smart as you want to be, you'll catch on......

If we play the devil's advocate to start. And say that the creation of life, the earth, the heavens and all that we know was a chance encounter, luck of the draw type mixture of things in the air. God still exist.

If we can look to the past briefly, for thousands of years, people have known of the entity; God (with a capital g). The words ascribed to him and the ideology that he represents, are very much known in every continent and most every language spoken by homo sapiens. The "teachings" and moral code of God are followed by countless people today as well as people of the world throughout those aforementioned thousands of years.

God very much does exist, even if God is simply an idea created by man, or man's dream or any other force that drives civilization.

The very fact that you know the word and the concept is as much proof of existence as a y possible argument against something. The fact that you spend so much of your own energy disproving God, is proof of God's pull on your own existence. And even if that's just an idea.....an idea is a very real and powerful thing.
Notanymore · 36-40, M
@Pikachu nah.....
@Notanymore

lol thought you had to go enjoy your coors and good times, bud.
That's fine though, hypocrites gonna hypocrite.
Notanymore · 36-40, M
@Pikachu i was just done with the argument. In fact. You're late. Sorry. Maybe next time. 6 hours with a Karen is enough for me
Okay, how about this because I’m tired and just in this for shits a giggles at this point.

I cannot in any way prove to you that the God I believe in or ANY god that anyone believes in for that matter, exists.

My personal belief in God and my belief in my faith is mine and mine alone. I know what I believe and that’s what’s important in my life. What you choose not to believe is yours.

But…prove me wrong that you don’t come here posting you’re statements and requests for “proof” as a way to argue with others and create arguments regarding the existence (and no existence) of the Abrahamic god.
I don’t want to. Your mind is yours. Why should I want to change it?
Notanymore · 36-40, M
@Sharon do I need to keep repeating myself? In all honesty, you haven't made a single argument that makes sense to me, so of course I don't know what else to say. But....alas, we. Can't continue tthis sharade....it's friday a d bud light a d good times sounds way better than arguing theology with a karen'd out atheist. So.....we'll agree to disagree. Hell.....you can chip your shoulder up and say you argued better than me, if itt helps you sleep.
Sharon · F
@Notanymore
do I need to keep repeating myself?
No, just repeating the same unsupported claims doesn't magically make them valid.
you haven't made a single argument that makes sense to me,
Your inability to follow simple logic is your problem.

The fact that you've had to resort to childish insults is evidence that you don't have an argument.
Notanymore · 36-40, M
@Sharon the fact that you had to resort to argument by memes is full on justification for the use of humorous insults. I think it's in the Geneva convention. After I've already said that I'm done....after stating my point 6 hours ago.....which mind you, doesn't matter in the slightest if it aligns with your opinions, as I wasn't even talking to you when I made the point in the first place. I just want to be on here a d enjoy my time and not deal with people trying to pick fights or shit. i understand you hate religion....I don't car! I respect your beliefs.....please don't look for reason to disrespect other's beliefs. If you get disrespected....let slip the dogs of war, but if you start something you get what you ask for. So, let's not go around this damn merry go round anymore .....okay?
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
If you don’t have the spiritual eyes to see then nothing anyone will say will ever convince you.
Sharon · F
@cherokeepatti Do we? How about The Tooth Fairy or The Flying Spaghetti Monster? We can see the latter's creation all around us.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@Sharon Now you are arguing just for the sake of arguments. As is typical with the non-believers.
Sharon · F
@cherokeepatti No, I'm just highlighting the major flaw in your argument.
Lostpoet · M

Sharon · F
@Lostpoet
And I can literally see God in his interactions.
Whereas others can see their gods or no god at all.
Lostpoet · M
@Sharon Maybe everyone's Gods are the same one God but with different interpretations.

The Parable of the Blind Men and the Elephant
Greg Koukl summarizes the story:

The first blind man put out his hand and touched the side of the elephant. “How smooth! An elephant is like a wall.”
The second blind man put out his hand and touched the trunk of the elephant. “How round! An elephant is like a snake.”
The third blind man put out his hand and touched the tusk of the elephant. “How sharp! An elephant is like a spear.”
The fourth blind man put out his hand and touched the leg of the elephant. “How tall! An elephant is like a tree.”
The fifth blind man reached out his hand and touched the ear of the elephant. “How wide! An elephant is like a fan.”
The sixth blind man put out his hand and touched the tail of the elephant. “How thin! An elephant is like a rope.”
If we change your mind, then He’ll start existing. Do you really want that?

can i perhaps convince you to worship the sun with me? i can at least prove that exists. :D
Harl3y100 · M
@bugeye ha
Straylight · 31-35, F
@bugeye The sun is just a left wing conspiracy. 🙄
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
Your purpose is definitely to be confrontational and pick a fight

It is definitely not about exchanging new ideas
It's always the non believers wanting to start arguments 🤣

@LvChris okayy
Sharon · F
@Greyscale When believers claim they have proof, as they frequently do, it's reasonable to ask them to present it.
FurryFace · 61-69, M
he does but i can say that , you'd have to watch my video , oh damn i gotta get it for you , here it is , my experiences with God

Sharon · F
@Emosaur In fact, much of it has been proven false.
FurryFace · 61-69, M
@Sharon thats what YOU think
Sharon · F
@FurryFace The proof exists, you can check it for yourself.
MougyWolf · 36-40, M
I'd agree, saving for the fact that we early humans might have mistaken a more advanced life form, as "god". Based on my own experience with certain chemicals, I DO believe that we saw something out there, and there is more to life than what meets the eye. But anyways.
SW-User
Don't think I can
WandererTony · 56-60, M
Why bother?
Candie · F
they say the only way to know God is through Jesus. ask Jesus into your heart and maybe you will come to know God.
Notanymore · 36-40, M
@Sharon your meme is hilarious. It's a dumbass argument. But hilarious.
Sharon · F
@Notanymore Childish insults just go to show you don't have a counter argument.

In general, it makes more sense to believe a God created the massive universe, earth, sun, humans, animals, food, emotions, intelligence, languages, etc, as opposed to everything came out of nothing.

@Harl3y100
it makes more sense to believe a God created the massive universe, e
So where did this god thing come from? Nothing?
Sharon · F
@Harl3y100
The same God that made a covenant with Abraham.
No such thing, it's just a figment of your imagination.
Notanymore · 36-40, M
Are you trying to prove your opinions and beliefs?
Notanymore · 36-40, M
@Emosaur yes. When it comes to someone's core values......but you know that dont you "edgelord"?
Sharon · F
@Harl3y100
can you disprove it?
Can you prove The Flying Spaghetti Monster doesn't live or do you accept that It does?
Notanymore · 36-40, M
@Sharon i know you
i agree. but i think that this is purgatory and that is why i don't belong here

Does too, does too, does too..!! (did that work?)
Sharon · F
@GerOttman They've been saying it for years but it hasn't worked yet.
Harl3y100 · M
Who made the material for the big bang to occur? Someone had to create that.
Harl3y100 · M
@Sharon ok. 👍
GerOttman · 61-69, M
@Harl3y100 I can understand why it would be easy to think that however it is possible that the universe was spontaneously generated from literally nothing.
Sharon · F
@GerOttman Whatever explanation is offered for the origin of "god" can just be applied to the universe instead, thus rendering the god hypothesis redundant.
Harriet03 · 41-45, F
Do you often state the bleeding obvious? 🤔
KuroNeko · 41-45, F
Why should anyone try to do that?

@Oberon1 It seems pointless to just comment that you're not going to comment further.
Oberon1 · 61-69, M
@Sharon Typing practice! 👍
