@PrettyTroubles Play around with different programs. Some of them are free/cheap and work better than you'd think for certain things. I do my actual drawing in Paint Tool Sai and edit colors and stuff in Photoshop. In addition, play around with different brushes, effects, etc.
Same as any other artistic endeavor: you just never know what's gonna work best for your particular style so have fun experimenting.

Never let anyone complain that you "only do photoshop". It's like cooking, if I can do everything I need to with a spatula, why do I need all that crap in the junk drawer?
