I Have Fish

I used to have ghost shrimp in the 5 gallon tank that now houses a betta and 2 corydoras.
I was attempting to breed the shrimp but they were poor quality feeder shrimp instead of shrimp meant for pets. Most of them did not survive the first night, all but 3 did not survive the week. Nothing wrong with my tank or the acclimation, they're just not taken care of well by the store I purchased them from.
To the point. I haven't had any ghost shrimp in that tank for about 3 months. Today, I came home from work to find not one but at least 5 teeny tiny baby shrimp. They're incredibly cute but I'm puzzled as to how they survived, especially considering I vaccum the gravel regularly. Any eggs would have been picked up, so I thought.
Due to the betta, the filter flow is on its lowest setting. Evidently it's just enough for those tiny shrimp to have hatched from their eggs.
Future shrimp with eggs shall be placed in that tank for safekeeping now that I know they will survive. (Some I purchase occasionally already have eggs)

I just wanted to share this. Have a good day.
