Think the Australian desert is a dead zone?

Australia's deserts may look like a Martian Landscape but we have something Mars does not.
Critters.
There are approximately 1.3 million feral Camels in Central Australia. Australia may now have the largest wild population of Arabian camels in the world. They live in most of Australia’s desert country including the Great Sandy, Gibson, Great Victoria and Simpson deserts, as well as much of the semi-desert lands. Camels were first introduced into Australia in the 1840’s to assist in the exploration of inland Australia.

The ocean is a desert with its life underground
And a perfect disguise all above
Under the cities lies a heart made of ground
But the humans will give no love

the Thorny Devil looks very similar to our horned lizards (We call em Horny Toads)…and then there’s the budgies, love those little birds….but I don’t know what I’d do if I saw a flock as big as that one in the photo. Sometimes a pet budgie will escape and they will usually end up hanging with a flock of small sparrows…doubt that they survive the winters here but they might.
