well, if they're right-footed (which most of them are) then the left side will have more feathers (idk, I'm making this up)

@DavidScott there is a theory that humans are right handed because the heart is on the left side. So, we lead with our right side to protect the left (heart). since chickens tend to be right-footed, the hypothesis stands for them as well, and they would have more feathers on the left side for protection
