Do you distinguish between a catfish and someone who selects a photo of an inspirational figure for his OR her PFP?

For example, I'm not actually pretending to be King Graham, because even I can't handle the avalanche of pVssy that would trigger.
It's more about how people present themselves than just their choice of profile photo. The catfish generally make it clear that they are pretending to be that person in the photo. Genuine people tend to choose photos which are obviously not them and they're upfront about it because they wouldn't want to mislead.

I don't distinguish nothing. I'm here to have have fun, entertainment, make a shit loads of friends. like @Blondily, @Fishy, @Tumbleweed, @HootyTheNightOwl, @WillaKissing, and countless more

I not here for a stick, full up & run

@HumanEarth that's what I like to hear, ma'am

I think it's more than just the pfp.

Like, (unless it's an obvious joke) if they actually post someone else's pics while claiming it's theirs.

Eg: a pic of someone else at the gym with a caption saying it's them and they just finished a workout.

@Fishy or filters... but wait that's what everyone does

@pancakeslam I'm a bit on the fence with filters,

I think it's on the same level as makeup,
But I suppose it depends on the filter 🤔

Some filters just hide a few blemishes, while other filters can make you look completely different

@Fishy OK that's fair. But AI can also look like someone else. I haven't experimented with it but I guess it can change your outfit or surroundings as well. similar to filters maybe.

I pick cartoonish avatars so its known Im not trying to be a phoney but I know of a few that pretend a pic of a celebrity is really them.

@Blondily you are about as far from a catfish as it gets
