Stuff that is hard for most is easy for me, and stuff that is easy for most is hard for me.Wake up at 3am most days and get in the gym and lift heavy before doing hard manual labor for 10 hours? Sure thing. Be emotionally available? 😬😬😬
Khalil Gibran is my favorite artist of all time. His ability to articulate complex emotions that would normally be beyond words is awe-inspiringThe Prophet is his most well known work but I think The Earth Gods is the one that most showcases his abilities. Gibran was both a painter and a poet and his proficiency in both disciplines is apparent in how he can, damn near literally, paint with...See More »
Know what's weird? A lot of people's idea of an ideal friend/partner is someone who meets all their wants/needs and never requires anything in return"Unconditional love" Well that sounds fantastic but when you look at it on paper that basically amounts to a parasitic relationship...you wanna feed on a host that never runs out of nutrients? Why do the vast majority of people essentially aspire...See More »
I don't care what anyone says; arnold presses, if done with good and deliberate form, are a great exercise for developing well-rounded shoulders. The reason so many think they're pointless is because most people's idea of an arnold press is rotating your wrists at the bottom of a dumbell shoulder press. Yeah, if you do it like that, then of course there's no point.
I could afford to take three months off and just train hard and live life. Very, very, tempting. But I would hate to just piss away over a quarter of my savings like that 😕. God would that be nice though. Thinking about it almost gets me hard.
Check out the sink in the bathroom of the gym this morning. Looked like pubes and foliage...I wonder what the story is.
I lead a team at work; two novices work under my direction. One of them is compliant and has a good attitude, but lacks confidence. The other has a whole lot of confidence and nothing else. He is pretty young; came to this program straight out of highschool and he still acts like a kid. Let's call him...See More »
Fiber optics: a nice break from high voltage feeders. From lighting to light, the versatility of trade union training is an asset for sure.
God DAMN that preworkout was some good shit. Feels like I just did a line of COKE. WOO *punches a hole in the wall*
The pursuit of knowledge is never ending; everything gets deeper. Everything has infinite layers of complexity.Been benching for years. I know all about leg drive and core bracing, breath in on down and out on up, and the modest back arch. Lat activation. Etc. But this morning I came to the realization that there is a small store of extra oomph hidden in...See More »
No matter how hard I go in the gym, I always can't help but wonder if I could have gone harderIt's never enough 🤷🏽♂️. But that is what it means to love a process; that's okay. I will incorporate what I feel I can do better, and after that I will rinse and repeat. Namely this week my thing was I got into the gym late twice. Not terribly...See More »
Speaking of that: the concept of anything just existing or being the case simply because it is and always has been is mind boggling.Ex: entropy is the tendency of all things to decay over time. But if everything is subject to entropy, then why and how does anything exist at all? If there was "nothing" before the universe then none of this should be here. Well, maybe entropy...See More »
If you had 5 grand and you had to make a quick profit off it how would you do it and how much of a return would you expect from your method?
I damn near cant remember the last time I had a day off. Feeling pretty burnt out 😪😪😪But on the flipside I'm making like 16 hundred bucks a week after taxes so I guess eroding away my mental and physical vitality is worth it!
Push push push. Push Push Push.Struggle and suffering is guaranteed and unavoidable. You'll struggle and suffer just as much trying to avoid it as you will if you lean into it. The only choice in this is to choose how and when and for what you struggle and suffer; you can make it...See More »
Life is extremely complicated; I like simple "catch-all" thought processes; it's like buckshot. You can't miss. And one of these is that pushing yourself will iron out all the kinks eventually. Adversity is like fire; if you constantly expose yourself to it then eventually all that is not steel in you will be burned away.
Apparently, due to high levels of theft, many Walmarts are closing down...am I alone in hoping that trend continues? They're a shitty business that treats their employees poorly, they deserve this, and in the longterm we would all be better off without them. If walmart tanks then perhaps those small mom and pop grocery shops could make a comeback seeing as though...See More »
Speaking of that, would you agree that piss is better than shit?Of course they both suck but if you absolutely had to live in close proximity to either a bunch of literal shit or a bunch of literal piss which would you choose?
“It is better to be a warrior in a garden than a gardener in a war.” -Musashi MiyamotoOne of my favorites. Innocence on its own is food for those that would harm the innocent. The acquisition and fostering of strength is mandatory in life. Full stop... ...if one's aspirations to change things means more to them than their...See More »
Ngl this is true as hell You know, when you add up the pros and cons of being a man and the pros and cons of being a woman, everything adds up to fair; neutral. I think that both the men who complain about how much it sucks to be men, and the women who complain about how...See More »
Physical Training is something very simple that, if everyone did it, would help, if not solve, a lot of complex issues. You learn resiliency with no lectures required. A weight is so damn simple; it is what it is. You can scream at it, cry at it, get mad, whatever you want, and the weight will remain what it is. The only way to overcome the weight is to overpower...See More »
I've been lifting for around 5 years now.Apparently I'm swole 🤷🏽♂️. I get a lot of comments to that affect. Even a doctor called me huge not too long ago. Asked if I lifted weights or if it's just construction work that made me this way. The thing is I really dont feel that big. I still...See More »
Usually i can get myself pretty fired up for my routine but this was a morning I was glad to have my discipline to fall back on.I was definitely not feeling it, but my body carried me through to the end, because my schedule has been baked into the fibers over the course of years.
