I Love Animation

Ralph Bakshi is criminally underappreciated. His movies may not have ever surpassed cult film material, but he is still one of the most groundbreaking animated film directors of all time by laying the foundations for independent and adult-oriented animated films in the mainstream. He was the first to deviate from the norm of his time and break all the rules and cliches in animation. In doing so, he inspired others to do the same with their own ideas. He was decades ahead of his time and remains a highly influential figure in the realm of animation, yet he's so widely overlooked that most have likely never heard of him or his work.
