The wrinkles are tough to clean so filth festers in them, the curlier the tail thre more likely thre spinal column gets pinched, shorter snout but normal nasal passage means it's folded in on itself causing breathing issues, etc.

I think it’s down to bad breeding, greed, In demand, people see it as a money maker.

@Fairydust It's not even bad breeding. Minor breathing issues are considered normal for the breed. It's the skull shape itself that's the root cause. If minor breathing issues are normal, you're going to have a sizable segment with major breathing issues - and one without any at all. But it's still not a particularly healthy state of things.
